Active Vibration Isolation
A separate pickup element senses vibration, handling noise, and physical shock and actually subtracts these problem sounds from the output. The result is less noise from bending the gooseneck, thumping the podium, or hand-holding the mic during interviews ... and there’s no need for an expensive and bulky shock mount.

Hypercardioid Pattern
Can be positioned farther from the presenter than conventional mics, so it remains unobtrusive while covering a wide area. The excellent side and rear rejection lets you use higher levels of amplification while avoiding feedback. Cardioid and Omnidirectional versions are also available.

How should I position the ISOMAX 4RF for best coverage?
The ISOMAX 4RF’s extremely accurate hypercardioid pattern works best
when the mic element is about a foot in front of the presenter and at chest
level, pointing toward the face. This location eliminates pops and other
breath noises, doesn’t interfere with sight lines, and accommodates both
normal conversational levels and presenters who prefer to project
to the crowd.

The pickup area is approximately a 90° cone extending from the tip of the
microphone, allowing the presenter to move around or share the podium
with a second person.

What options are available for the ISOMAX 4RF?
The most popular configuration is black, with an 18” semi-rigid stalk
that is flexible at the top and bottom. The ISOMAX 4RF is supplied
with a matching windscreen and storage tube.

The Countryman A4CDM Desk Mount is specifically designed for the ISOMAX 4RF microphone. It consists of a Neutrik connector module which the gooseneck plugs into, and a metal bushing that can be mounted through a table top or podium surface. It both supports and connects the mic, and provides an attractive, unobtrusive mount with a very small footprint. This kind of mounting is practical only because of the ISOMAX 4RF’s Active Vibration Isolation—other podium microphones require bulky shock mounts to avoid table vibration noises.

Mounting the A4CDM requires drilling the table surface and soldering to the connector module, and is recommended for permanent installations only. The mic itself is held in place by the XLR connector’s latch and can be easily removed for storage
